Your Child Should Feel They Belong
How children feel when they walk through our doors matters. We have embedded practices across our services that encourage Educators to genuinely get to know the children in their care. By understanding their personalities, interests and individual needs, our Educators learn who thrives in the middle of the action, who prefers a quieter start to the afternoon and who may need a little extra encouragement to get involved.
These relationships help Educators better understand each child, recognise when something may be different, and provide the individual encouragement, and support they need to confidently participate in the program.

We know that the environment a child spends time in has a significant impact on how they feel. This is why our services are intentionally designed to be welcoming, organised and engaging, with spaces that encourage creativity, play, collaboration and quiet moments when needed.
A calm, predictable environment helps children feel secure and gives them the confidence to explore, learn and have fun.
Your Child Is Always Supported Through Active Supervision
Keeping children safe is our highest priority. Children are constantly moving, trying new activities, making new friends and exploring different spaces throughout a TeamKids session. Keeping them safe requires Educators who are attentive, engaged and aware of what is always happening around them.
That is why TeamKids places a strong focus on supervision. Our Educators complete dedicated supervision training and are taught practical strategies that help them know where children are, notice when something has changed and respond quickly when support is needed. These expectations are reinforced through our Leadership Teams and are embedded in the way our services operate every day.
For us, supervision is about being present, building relationships, anticipating risks and creating environments where children can confidently participate while knowing there are trusted adults looking out for them.
We Listen to Your Child
Children’s voices help shape their experience at TeamKids. Across our services, Educators create opportunities for children to share their ideas, make choices and contribute to the program through activities such as club voting, brainstorming sessions, reflection journals and everyday conversations.
Listening to children is also an important part of keeping them safe. By getting to know their personalities, interests and usual behaviours, our Educators are better able to recognise when something has changed, when a child may need additional support or when they are trying to communicate a concern.
We also encourage children to build trusting relationships with the adults around them so they know there is someone they can talk to if they need help or want to share something important. Alongside this, TeamKids fosters a strong See Something, Say Something culture, where Educators are expected to act whenever they have concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing.
